Final Essay
What are the positive and the negitive about South Central L.A. to day? The three events that had the biggest impact are the L.A Riots, Crack Epidemic, and the gang history. I think so because its the reason the city is the way it is today with al the drugs and gangs.
The first event that had the greatest impact is the L.A. riot. The L.A. riot had a big impact on the city because the city of L.A. was tired of seeing there follow citizens getting beaten by the police. The people of L.A. was also tired of the fact that lots of the people had no jobs, and how high the crime rate was. The crime rate was the worst by far in L.A. history. At 1077 murders. Thats three time what it us today. The riot lasted for about 3-5 days. The national gaurds was called in to assisted the police. The riot calmed the lives of 53 people and 1 million in damages.
The second event that had a great impact onĀ making South Central what it is today was the crack Epidemic. The crack epidemic was started by the president Ronald Reagan him self. He wanted to support the Nicaraguas against the Somoza because there communist. He and the (CIA) decided to sell crack to major drug dealers and let them sell it to the people of south central to make money and buy guns ang food for the Nicaraguas. This torn down many familys and the city. The biggest drug dealer was Freeway Ricky Ross. The was later caught by the (CIA).
The Third event that had the greatest impact on the city was gang violence. The blacks and latinos started off as protection as a result of the beating by the whites
